Hyundai Sonata 2013 Performance & Safety

Performance and safety.

In the Sonata, you get ample measures of each.

Whether you’re travelling solo, or with friends and family, you want to arrive safely. The 2013 Hyundai Sonata takes safety seriously, with an unparalleled level of features designed to help you avoid accidents.

First on the list is Electronic Stability Control (ESC) with Traction Control System (TCS). Designed to help keep your vehicle driving straight in slippery or icy conditions, it automatically applies power or braking to the appropriate wheels when it detects that the car is skidding.

To that, we add an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) with Brake Assist (BA) and six airbags – including dual front airbags, front seat-mounted side-impact, and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags – to ensure you get where you’re going safely. Most importantly, all of these features are standard on every 2013 Sonata.

When it comes to power, the 2013 Sonata boasts the revolutionary Theta II 2.4L 4-cylinder GDI engine. GDI stands for Gasoline Direct-Injection – a fuel delivery system that allows for greater control of the fuel mixture. Mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, the Sonata produces 198 horsepower while maintaining a remarkably low combined fuel economy of 7.3L/100km.
